Where the Red Fern Grows...

Now, here's a movie that I did love! My husband really wanted to rent this from Netflix, so we did and it was so touching. Although, it was sad, it was so true to real life, and a really sweet story about a boy who falls in love with his 'pups'. I think more movies like this should be made. I'm tired of these movies that bear no thought to what actually happens in REAL life. This is a story that is believable, heart-warming, and beautiful! I strongly recommend seeing it.

  1. I agree regarding the reality of shows. It's interesting that show much of what people are entertained by is so unreal to life. It's refreshing to see a good spirited, plausible movie. I haven't seen "Where the Red Fern Grows" for awhile, but I liked the movie and the book even more.

  2. I don't think I've ever seen the movie, but I read the book when I was 11 years old and I remember I was SOOO upset at the end I cried so much. It's interesting how seeing or reading about an animal's death can be more sad than a human being's death sometimes.

Hope I didn't ruin the story for anyone. . .

  3. I'm right there with Rhett...I read it in 5th grade and cried and cried and cried. I was so attached to those dogs by the end of the book.
